Scott Enterprises began in 1981 as a roofing contractor specializing in flexible sheet rubber roofing systems. When founder Don Seaton saw the rising popularity and market potential of architectural metal roofing, he, along with his son Scott and Tim Wood, ventured into metal roofing with a bank project in 1988. Scott Seaton and Tim Wood also set up a sheet metal shop operation to fabricate coping, flashing, trim and other sheet metal components.
The company’s first major commitment to architectural metal roofing was their acquisition of a Berridge Model SS-14 Portable Roll Former which provided them with the capability of fabricating continuous-length straight or curved standing seam roof panels.
The Berridge Total Program also gave Scott Enterprises access to 24-gauge steel coil and flat sheet material, prefinished with Kynar 500 full-strength PVDF color finishes and complete technical and performance testing support.
The addition of architectural metal roofing enabled Scott Enterprises to offer their clients a total roofing package: “Berridge site-forming technology enables us to fabricate in exact lengths, with no waste… we are now able to provide our customers with a complete package — flat roof, metal roofing, trim — everything!” states Scott Vice President Tim Wood.
